We're Into Newt
Seriously, I am. I read this article, and it touched me.
"What I'm trying to start is a new dialogue that is evidence-based," Gingrich said Thursday. "It doesn't start from the right wing, it doesn't start from the left wing," he said, but is an effort to get politicians and voters to "look honestly at the evidence of what isn't working and tell us how to change it."

"We have got to get past this partisan baloney, where I'm not allowed to say anything good about Hillary Clinton because 'I'm not a loyal Republican,' and she's not allowed to say anything good about me, or she's not a 'loyal' Democrat. What a stupid way to run a country."
The reason this hits me, of course, is because of people like me and John. We have differences about politics. Even so, we can sit down for a political discussion and actually hash out some agreement about what we think we would like to see done about things. When we can't agree it's usually just because we don't know something, but we can agree on who would change their minds which way from finding out what.
The most horrific thing, given the current political climate, is that John is a Democrat, I'm a Republican, and we are still civil and reasonable. Of course, that happens because we're committed to being civil and reasonable instead of being members of our parties.
